Houses set on fire in Şırnak

State forces have set dozens of residential and commercial buildings in İsmetpaşa neighborhood of Şırnak where the areas of self-rule are hit continuously with howitzers.

The popular resistance for self-rule has been going on in Şırnak for 40 days despite the ever increasing genocidal attacks of state forces. The city was hit by artillery and howitzers continuously through last night.

Dozens of houses and shops caught fire as a result of shells, especially in the Kanîya Jêr region between İsmetpaşa and Cumhuriyet neighborhoods.

The city is covered in black smoke due to the fires. Violent clashes started in İsmetpaşa neighborhood along with the bombings and still continue. Yenimahalle and Bahçelievler neighborhoods were also intensely targeted by howitzers all night long.

Clashes between state forces and YPS/YPS-JIN members continue along with the bombing around the neighborhoods.

UAV activity above the city also continues for 3 days.

Several helicopters were seen landing and taking off at 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command and Çakırsöğüt Gendarmerie Brigade. Helicopters are also flying low over the rural parts of the city over Cudi and Gabar directions.
