A howitzer fired by Turkish soldiers hit an area where two shepherds grazing sheep in the countryside of Hakkari's Çukurca district yesterday. One of the shepherds died and the other got heavily wounded.
Serkan Ölmez (14) and Erkan Ölmez (18) were grazing their sheep in Awuşê vicinity of Zawîte (Ormanlı) village affiliated to Hakkari's Çukurca district yesterday. Two cousins got heavily wounded after a howitzer fired by Turkish soldiers fell near them and exploded.
While Erkan Ölmez (18) lost his life, Serkan Ölmez (14) was taken to Hakkari Public Hospital where his treatment continues.
