Millions of Kurds are anticipated to flock to the squares in Newroz 2022, which is expected to go down in history as the Newroz of liberation, resurrection, and resistance. The enthusiasm of Newroz is felt days before the festival all over Kurdistan and in all areas where Kurds live.

Hozan Kawa, who wishes for the Newroz of 2022 to be one of peace, serenity, national unity, and freedom, stated that he wrote the song "Newroz," which he recorded in 2004 and widely circulated, for this purpose: "When the song Newrozê first performed in Amed Square in 2004, it was impossible to explain my emotions," remarked Hozan Kawa, who added that “The Newroz song became immortal with public embrace. Then it was adopted by millions of people. The song was really appreciated by our people. I'd want to perform it in front of millions of people in Kurdistan." 

Hozan Kawa gave the following message regarding the 2022 Newroz: “From the Medes, when the first Newroz fire was lighted, to the present day, our people have celebrated this festival. This will continue for thousands of years. The fire will never die. Newroz, like its name suggests, is a festival of rebirth and resistance, and it is celebrated by the Kurds, as well as the peoples of the Middle East. Our people have paid a heavy price for their freedom. That is why, on this Newroz, all Kurds must stand up, defend their rights until the very end, and stand up with a love for liberation. This Newroz provides an opportunity for that. Every one of our people, of every age, should participate in celebrations wholeheartedly. We must flock to the squares as millions on Newroz in 2022.”
