The Press Office of People’s Defense Forces, HPG-BIM, released a statement providing information about the results of most recent actions carried out by guerrillas against the invading Turkish army in Kurdistan territory.

The statement by HPG-BIM is as follows;

“Within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, on August 1, at 23.00, our guerrilla forces carried out an action targeting a checkpoint of the occupying Turkish army in Şîrvanê village in Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) district.

The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be clarified in the action where enemy positions and shelters were struck effectively.

Following the action, on August 2, the occupying Turkish army launched an operation with the support of unmanned aerial vehicles and a large number of armored vehicles in Shavte, Sêkranê and Şêrvanê villages. On the same day, at 11.30, our forces carried out a sabotage action against a unit of the operation. In the action, one enemy soldier was killed. Following this action, the operation unit was withdrawn from the area. This operation still continues with the support of disguised units.

Within the scope of the Martyr Delal Amed and Besta Martyrs Revolutionary Campaign, on August 2, at 02.00, our forces carried out a comprehensive action against a unit of the occupying Turkish army positioned on a hill near Girê Misto hill in Navyanê Şaxa area of Sirnak province. Our forces targeted enemy positions and shelters from 4 sides, entered enemy positions on the hill and destroyed 8 positions. Also, our forces destroyed a dozer vehicle and ammunition on the hill. A fire broke out in the enemy shelters and barracks which was put under intense fire. Our guerrillas killed 11 enemy soldiers in this action. Our guerrilla forces seized one BKC weapon belonging to the soldiers. Following the action, Navyana Şêxa, Çelê Nımêja, Sirnak Division, Besta Bıluzera Brigade and surrounding outposts bombed the area with howitzers and mortars. As a result of the bombardment, a fire broke out in the wooded area.

The invading Turkish army launched an operation with the support of unmanned aerial vehicles at 16.00 hours on the same day. Throughout the operation, the occupying Turkish army intensively bombed the area with warplanes. Two of our friends were martyred in the bombardment. The ID information of our martyr comrades will be shared with the public later on.

On July 25, the occupying Turkish army launched an operation in the area of Çemê Karê in Siirt's Pervari district. The actions of our forces against the operation units are continuing. Within the scope of the Martyr Delal Amed and Besta Martyrs Revolutionary Campaign, on August 2, our guerrillas carried out an action targeting enemy soldiers positioned on the Martyr Sorxwin hill. Two enemy soldiers were killed and one soldier was wounded in the action.

On July 29, at 06.00, our forces targeted a Sikorsky helicopter of the invading Turkish army in Deriyê Berana area of the Beytussebap district of Şırnak. In the action, the helicopter was damaged.”
