HPG: 2 soldiers killed in Siirt

HPG stated that Turkish military started an operation in the surroundings of İskambu outpost in Siirt's Şirvan district on April 15. The Turkish troop was targeted by a sabotage action as they headed towards İskambu crest on April 17. While at least 2 members of the Turkish army were verified killed here, soldiers were seen leaving the area with 6 body bags.
In the wake of the action by guerrillas, Cobra type helicopters raked the scene for an hour, while troops at İskambu and Verqanıs outposts shelled the foothills of Siser and Kuris mountains with tank and howitzer fire. HPG said this action was conducted in memory of guerrilla Xemgin Koçer who recently fell in Muş.
HPG-BIM also reported that 2 Cobra type helicopters of the Turkish army bombed the hills of Leylek and Bayrak at the border of Hakkari's Gever (Yüksekova) district between 10.00 – 11.00 on April 17.
