HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office has released a written statement detailing the ongoing actions by guerrillas against Turkish military targets.

HPG reported that Turkish troops launched an operation in the territory of Helankê and Meleyan villages in Hakkari's Şemzinan (Şemdinli) district at 04:00 on June 4. Before the beginning of this operation, Turkish forces intensely shelled the surroundings of Meleyan village between 10.00 – 19.00 on June 3. During the same hours, Durê and Radyolik outposts also shelled the Meleyan village.

The operation continued expanding with the participation of guards from the villages of Durê, Soranser and Kampadayê, with one Turkish troop getting deployed in Meleyan territory and another on Hill Sor located between Meleyan and Soranser villages. At 11:00 in the morning of June 4, guerrillas conducted an assassination action targeting soldiers moving from Hill Sor to Meleyan village, but the death toll inflicted here couldn't be verified.

At 15:00 in the afternoon, guerrillas targeted a Turkish unit, as a result of which 6 soldiers died. Two HPG guerrillas fell fighting here.

Again on June 4, another group of soldiers was targeted by guerrillas as they advanced towards the Meleyan village, which left 3 soldiers dead. Between 16:00-17:00 in the evening, guerrillas infiltrated into the position of soldiers deployed near Meleyan, which left 4 more soldiers dead in actions at close range.

At 16:30 on June 5, guerrillas conducted an expansive action from two directions targeting a Turkish troop retreating from Hill Sor. 4 soldiers were killed in the first direction and 8 others in the second. At 17:00 the same day, guerrillas hit another Turkish unit they encountered in this area, and 1 soldier was killed.

HPG concluded that a total of 26 soldiers were killed and many others got injured during the Turkish army operation here, while connection has been lost with a guerrilla unit operating in this area.

ASSASSINATION ACTION BY YJA-STAR GUERRILLAS

HPG continued, reporting an assassination action by YJA-STAR (Free Women's Troops) guerrillas against a Turkish troop deployed around the Şehidan hill at the border of Şırnak's Uludere district at 16:00 on June 6. One high-ranking soldier was killed in the guerrilla action which was dedicated to fallen YJA-STAR guerrilla Viyan Bahoz. Guerrillas also hit the soldiers that gathered at the scene in the wake of the action, but the number of casualties couldn't be clarified.

TURKISH JETS BOMBED GARÊ AND XINERE AREAS

HPG also reported ongoing Turkish airstrikes targeting Medya Defense Zones between 08:40 and 09:30 on June 6.

Accordingly, Turkish jets shelled the Şêlalê village and Geliyê Şê area between the villages of Gısê and Bermavê in Garê area of Medya Defense Zones between 08.40 – 09.30 on June 6.

Turkish airstrikes also targeted the Kelaşin and Berbızına hamlet in Xinere area between 23.00 – 00.00 the same day.
