HPG Media Center issued a written statement on guerilla actions and Turkish army attacks. In its statement, HPG said that 3 soldiers were killed during guerilla actions in Şırnak.

2 SOLDIERS KILLED IN BESTA

HPG stated that guerillas carried out an action against Turkish soldiers positioned at the Doğan Hill of Şırnak’s Besta region between 11:00 and 12:00 on May 26, and 2 soldiers were killed during the action.

ACTION BY YJA-STAR GUERILLAS

HPG said that YJA-STAR guerillas carried out an assassination action against Turkish soldiers positioned at the Martyr Kendal Hill of Şırnak’s Uludere district at 17:00 on May 26, and one soldier was killed during the action.

YJA-STAR guerillas carried out another action against soldiers guarding a digger during a road construction near the Şehidan Hill of Şırnak’s Uludere district today at 10:00, and destroyed the digger. The numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.

TURKISH ARMY OPERATION IN ŞEMZİNAN

HPG announced that the Turkish army launched an operation near the villages of Nerkola, Navzera and Mehri in Hakkari’s Şemzinan district on May 25.

BOMBARDMENT IN CILANE VILLAGE

HPG state that soldiers from the Bespin, Milê Gurya and Şırnak outposts have been bombarding and shelling the Cudi region and the villages of Navakara and Cılane in order to empty the three villages and close the roads in the region.

SHOTS FIRED TO WARN VILLAGE GUARDS

Lastly, HPG noted that guerillas fired warning shots to keep off village guards from Siirt’s Dıhê (Eruh) and Serxete regions in order to avoid clashes on May 24.
