HPG Media Center announced the results of the bomb action against Midyat Police Headquarters. HPG stated that guerilla Dirok Amed carried out an action against the police headquarters in Mardin’s Midyat district at 11:00 on June 8 in memory of Nusaybin martyrs and Commanders Kawa and Xeyri.
HPG said that the headquarters has 6 floors and houses 150 police officers, who have organized all sorts of dirty plans, attacks, and tortures against Kurdish people and the values of the Freedom Movement. The Media Center announced that the entrance of the headquarters as well as 2 armored vehicles and 10 police cars got destroyed during the action, and the nearby lodging building got heavily damaged.
HPG Media Center emphasized that 30 police officers died and tens of officers got injured during the action of Dirok Amed, and the Turkish state and its war media have been hiding the results of the action and emphasizing civilian casualties. HPG underlined that the action did not target any civilians, and was carried out at the police headquarters.
‘DİROK AMED TOOK HIS PLACE AMONG THE MARTYRS OF THE FREEDOM MOVEMENT’
HPG said that Dirok Amed joined the guerilla ranks in North Kurdistan in 2011, and grew and got wiser ideologically and organizationally during the on-going war. The Media Center stated that Dirok Amed carried out the action against the state’s occupation forces with a love for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the peoples of Kurdistan in his hear, and has taken his place among the martyrs of the freedom movement.
