HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office has released a statement announcing the results of yesterday's action conducted by guerrillas in Hani district of Amed.

HPG reported that this retaliatory action was carried out in memory of the guerrillas martyred in Sason, in the person of Dorşîn Hani (Ayşenur Kılıç), also in response to the Turkish state fascism in Kurdistan and state terror committed in Nusaybin, Şırnak and Gever on the basis of Erdoğan's order to 'either bend or give the head'.

According to the HPG statement, guerrillas targeted the Hani District Gendarmerie Command with explosives at 23:05 on April 11. The military outpost which housed as many as 200 soldiers was greatly demolished as a result of the guerrilla action that left the main entrance building, 2 emplacements, 1 tower, 1 tank, 1 panzer and many military vehicles completely destroyed and on fire. Two buildings in the gendarmerie command were also demolished largely.

HPG stated that 34 soldiers died and more than 70 others were wounded as a result of the blast, after which casualties were removed from the scene with a large number of ambulances and helicopters amid an intense military mobilization in and around the town center.

HPG continued, reporting another guerrilla action against Turkish troops participating in an operation in Hizan district of Bitlis on April 10. Accordingly, the Turkish military operation in the areas of Girê Sor, Nızarê Azê, Sırtê Pîsyan, Girê Hemeta is also being joined by village guards. Guerrillas infiltrated into the operation area, which resulted in clashes that lasted until evening hours. A Sikorsky type helicopter trying to airdrop soldiers into the operation zone was also hit by guerrillas.

A total of 6 soldiers and 1 contra-member were killed in clashes in this area. Corpses of slain soldiers were held by guerrillas till the evening hours.

HPG said this action was carried out in memory of the guerrillas martyred in Sason and Mutki, adding that Turkish operation in this area is going on.
