The press center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) reported in its daily bulletin on war events in Kurdistan of an "infiltration operation successfully carried out at lightning speed" by the guerrillas in the province of Ağri. According to the report, on July 13, the Turkish army launched an operation in the Demirkapi area of Glîdağ that also involved a covert unit. The guerrillas gained control of this unit and carried out a coordinated action from three sides. "During the course of the action, the enemy unit was rendered ineffective within a short period of time, and at least five occupants were punished," the HPG statement said. The surviving soldiers fled in panic into the compound, where they were struck a second time. While it could not be determined how many soldiers were killed or wounded here, the casualties were taken away by army helicopters two hours later.
Sabotage by YJA Star in Heftanîn
HPG further informed that the women's guerrilla force YJA Star carried out a sabotage action against the Turkish occupation forces on August 10 at Mount Xantûr in Heftanîn. "In the action, a large number of occupiers were punished," the HPG said. The casualties were taken out of the area by helicopters by the Turkish army.
At least one soldier killed in Metîna
In Metîna, guerrillas struck a Turkish unit in the gorge at Girê Azad with heavy weapons on Tuesday. The intended target was hit accurately. This was followed by a YJA Star action on the occupiers at the Koordine hill at 3:50 a.m. today. One soldier was killed, and two surveillance cameras on the summit were also destroyed.
Actions against the occupation forces in Avaşîn
HPG report that guerrilla forces gained control of a Turkish unit at the foothills of Girê Sor in Avaşîn on August 10 and hit it at close range. At least one soldier was killed, and the occupation forces were forced to withdraw. At Girê Silêman, the occupation forces were fired on from two sides with heavy weapons.
Seven operations with chemical weapons in one day in Werxelê
The Turkish army introduced chemical warfare agents into the guerrillas' underground positions in the Werxelê area of Avaşîn seven times between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on August 10. As the HPG reported, massive deployments of chemical warfare agents had already taken place in the tunnel during the previous three days. Last night, the tunnel was also bombed by fighter jets and helicopters, and blasts took place on the ground.
Air strikes on Gare and Metîna
The Siyanê area in Gare was attacked by Turkish fighter jets on Tuesday evening. The bombardment caused a conflagration that is still ongoing. In Metîna, helicopter movements were recorded along the Qaşûra line between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., and the vicinity of the villages of Dêşîşê and Seraru and the Koordine hill were bombed by helicopters at the same hour.
At Girê Sor in Avaşîn, guerrillas prevented the tunnel from being blown up on Tuesday, forcing the occupation forces to retreat. The area is continuously overflown by drones. Between 12:30 a.m. and 10:50 p.m., the Çemço area in the Zap region was shelled with heavy weapons by the Turkish army.
According to HPG, the guerrillas suffered no casualties in these attacks.
