HPG: 6 Turkish soldiers killed; 1 military vehicle destroyed in Gever

HPG said that a Turkish military convoy moving from Gever towards Wargenima outpost was hit by the YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) in a sabotage action.

The People’s Defense Forces (HPG)Press Centre released the following information regarding the details of latest guerrilla actions and Turkish invasion attacks:

“As part of the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Campaign:

On 27 July, the invading Turkish troops were hit in a sabotage action by our forces in the area between Girê Martyr Derwêş and Gundê Xelîfan areas in the Xakurkê region. At least 1 Turkish soldier was killed in this successful action.

On July 27, at 11:30, a military convoy of the invading Turkish army moving from the Gever district of Hakkari towards the Wargenima outpost was struck in a sabotage action by our YJA Star forces between Banê and Yekmala Jêr villages. As a result of this successful action, 1 Hedgehog type military vehicle was destroyed, at least 6 soldiers were killed, and 10 others were injured.

Following the action, the invading Turkish army blocked the road between Gever, Şemdinli and Yekmala Jêr for a while and removed its casualties and vehicle from the area.

In Avaşîn region:

On July 27, between 23:00 and 00:00, the invading Turkish army bombed the battle tunnels in the Girê Sor area and in the Werxelê area at 01:00.

On July 27, between 23:00 and 00:30, Turkish combat helicopters bombed the battle tunnels in the Werxelê area.

On July 27, between 22:30 and 23:30, the slopes of Xantur in the Heftanîn region were bombed by combat helicopters. Fire that broke out in the area following the bombardment still continues.

On 27 July, the Shekîf area in the Xakurkê region was bombed with howitzers and mortars fired from the border posts. On the same day, the Şekîf and Sinînê areas were bombed between 16:30 and 17:30 by fighter jets. At 21:30, the Shekif area was bombed by combat helicopters.

On July 27, between 22:30 and 00:30, Turkish helicopters were seen in the Cîloya Biçûk and Letter T areas of the Zap region. The invading Turkish army replaced its troops in the Girê Martyr Serxwebûn area and bombed the letter T area with its combat helicopters.

On July 27, between 23:00 and 01:00, the invading Turkish army replaced its troops in Girê Koordîne, Girê Azad and Boxaza Girê Azad in the Metîna region with helicopters.

We suffered no casualties during these attacks.”
