HPG Press Office released a statement providing information about an action carried out by guerrillas in Dersim, North Kurdistan.

Accordingly, HPG guerrillas hit a unit of the Turkish army on Xelasor hill at 14:00 on May 23. Effective strikes by the guerrillas from four directions left 8 soldiers dead and 5 others wounded.

Turkish army retrieved the dead and wounded soldiers with Sikorsky helicopters and transported them to Dersim city center following the action during which one guerrilla fell a martyr. HPG said the action was carried out in memory of the guerrillas martyred in Dersim.
