HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office has released a statement claiming responsibility for yesterday's action against police shuttle in the main Kurdish city Amed.
HPG reported that the action was conducted in the scope of the Martyr Xemgin Koçer and Martyr Nucan Malatya Revolutionary Initiative launched by guerrillas in Amed, and in memory of the Martyr Azad Siser, Çekdar Amed and 4 other guerrillas who were martyred in Amed's Lice district recently.
Remarking that the action targeted the "occupying forces conducting attacks in Northern Kurdistan”, HPG said media reports of civilian losses in the mentioned action couldn't be verified by their side.
According to the statement, a guerrilla team carried out a sabotage action against a police shuttle on Batıkent road in Amed's Bağlar district at 16:30 on May 10.
HPG said 9 police were killed and 15 others were wounded as a result of the guerrilla action which also left the shuttle bus unusable.
