The lands of Kurdistan have been the cradle of myriad heroic deeds. All legendary epics are currently celebrated and commemorated in various ways among the Kurdish people. One of those historical days is Newroz, which is recognized as the day of resistance against oppression. The Newroz celebration has reached its apogee in 2022 thanks to the 50 years of struggle and effort of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan. Celebrating Newroz with this spirit of victory, the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas embrace the ancient culture and make this day even more meaningful with their sacrifices.

The guerrillas sang songs in every dialect of Kurdish during the celebrations and expressed their devotion to Öcalan. The guerrillas lighted the Newroz fire they took over from Kawa the Blacksmith and danced around the fire in the guerrilla zones.
