HPG: At least 16 soldiers killed and one Skorsky helicopter damaged

HPG Media Center announced that at least 16 soldiers were killed and one Skorsky-type helicopter was damaged during guerilla actions across North Kurdistan.

HPG Media Center issued a written statement on guerilla actions in North Kurdistan and announced that at least 16 soldiers were killed and one Skorsky-type helicopter was damaged.

HPG stated that guerillas carried out an action against a Turkish army convoy on its way from Bêdevê outpost to Bezelê outpost in Hakkari’s Şemzinan region at 14:40 on May 25, and 3 soldiers were killed and 2 soldiers were injured during the action. HPG said that the Turkish army launched an operation in the area after the action but withdrew without yielding any results around 22:00.

The Media Center stated that guerillas carried out an action against soldiers stationed at Zeytê outpost in Hakkari’s Yüksekova district at 10:00 on May 25, and 4 soldiers were killed during the action. The Turkish army bombarded the nearby Mergê area, Ronahi Hill and Zeytê valley after the action, which was carried out in memory of guerillas martyred in Oremar.

HPG stated that guerillas carried out an action against soldiers near the Tepê Sinek outpost in Şırnak’s Uludere district between 10:30 and 12:30 on May 25, and 2 soldiers were killed during the action. Guerillas carried out another action against soldiers in Yekmal outpost at 14:30 on the same day, but the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.

The Media Center announced that YJA Star forces carried out an action against the Evnebenat battalion in Şırnak’s Güçlükonak district at 09:00 on May 25, and 2 soldiers were killed and 1 soldier was injured during this action. Turkish soldiers bombarded the area with Skorsky-type helicopters after the action, which was carried out in memory of martyr Hêlin Koçer.

HPG stated that Turkish warplanes bombarded the Golê and Talate villages of Mardin’s Ömerli and Nusaybin districts, respectively, at 10:30, and the Keşan village of Medya Defense Zones’ Heftanin area between 21:00 and 21:30 on May 25.

HPG said that guerillas carried out an action against soldiers carrying out a roadblock between Malabadi and Amed’s Farqin district after 15:00 on May 24, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.

HPG announced that guerillas hit and damaged a Skorsky-type helicopter as it was heading to Lice from Amed on May 25. In another action, HPG guerillas targeted the Bölükyazı Gendarme Outpost in Bitlis at 19:30 on May 24, and at least one soldier died and one soldier got injured here.

The Media Center stated that guerillas carried out an action against the Güvenlik Hill of Bitlis’ Hizan district at 19:50 on May 25, and 1 soldier died during the action.

HPG announced that Turkish soldiers accompanied by armored vehicles and Skorsky helicopters launched an operation in the Şerefini region of Bingöl’s Kanireş (Karlıova) district at 21:00 on May 25, and the operation continues. HPG noted that Turkish soldiers have also been shelling Bingöl’s Farxan region since 06:00 this morning.

The Media Center stated that the Martyr Dersim Revenge Unit carried out an action against soldiers from the Dereova outpost in Dersim’s Nazimiye district at 17:10 on May 25, and 3 soldiers died and 1 soldier got injured during the action.

HPG stated that guerillas took control of the Çaldıran-Bazid road near the villages of Glizerk and Zorava villages at 11:30 on May 24 as part of the Martyr Andok-Eriş Revolutionary Initiative. HPG recalled that 9 soldiers had been killed during a sabotage action here, and added that 2 of these dead soldiers were sergeants and 3 of them were specialist sergeants. The Media Center noted that Turkish drones have been carrying out reconnaissance flights over the area and 2 Kobra-type helicopters and tanks were attacking the area since 18:00. Tanks from the Kevirê Şamiyan, Pîra Evdê and Zorava outposts also bombarded the area at 20:00. HPG stated that this action was carried out in memory of Martyr Azad Siser and Çekdar Amed.
