HPG Press Office reported in a written statement that guerrillas affiliated to HPG (People's Defense Forces) and YJA Star (Free Women's Troops) conducted effective retaliatory actions in response to Turkish army's attacks in Kurdistan and attempts of total annihilation, which also targeted cemeteries of martyrs.
Providing information about the actions carried out as part of the Martyr Reşit Serdar Initiative, HPG said guerrillas conducted a heavy weapon action against the Rındıkê guard post in Çukurca district of Hakkari at 17:00 on September 21. The building and main entrance gate of the special operation police branch was effectively hit with rockets, which started a fire in the building and at the gate.
While guerrillas also hit the guard post concurrently, the number of casualties left by the action couldn't be made clear.
Blocking the road between Hakkari and its Çukurca district in the area of Dawuşa village from 10.00 to 13.00 on September 22, guerrillas performed ID checks and stopped two civil cars carrying supplies to Çukurca Brigade. Seizing all the supplies in both cars, guerrillas released the drivers after a warning.
Following the action, Turkish aircraft supported by UAVs shelled the area of Dawuşa village between 13.00 – 14.30. In addition, two Cobra type helicopters shelled the scene, which left one guerrilla heavily wounded, who later lost his life.
Turkish jets supported by UAVs shelled the same scene between 18.00 - 21.00 in the evening. One Cobra type helicopter of the Turkish army was hit by guerrillas with heavy weaponry, which later fell down in Çemka hamlet 1 km to the Dawuşa village.
The action was carried out in memory of Baran Dersim and three other guerrillas who recently fell in Dersim.
ONE SOLDIER KILLED IN YÜKSEKOVA
Another action by guerrillas targeted an armored vehicle in Yüksekova district of Hakkari on September 21, as a result of which one soldier was killed and two others were wounded.
SABOTAGE ACTION AGAINST MILITARY CONVOY
In retaliation for the attacks on cemeteries of Kurdish martyrs, guerrillas conducted a sabotage action against a military convoy of 50 armored vehicles on its way from Hakkari to Van at 01:30 on September 22. One armored vehicle was completely destroyed in the action, which left 11 soldiers inside dead who were later removed from the scene in Sikorsky type helicopters and ambulances. The action left the road out of use.
13 SOLDIERS KILLED IN BAŞKALE
13 soldiers were killed as guerrillas hit an armored vehicle during a road control between Van's Başkale district and Şelegom guard post on September 21.
COUNTER MAHMUT KANAT KILLED
A counter individual by the name of Mahmut Kanat was killed after disobeying the warning of guerrillas to end his activities in Metina village of Mardin's Ömerli district at 20:30 on September 22. Kanat's son was also wounded in the action.
During a control on the road between Bitlis and its Hizan district, which remains under the control of guerrillas since September 12, guerrillas opened a warning fire on three cars that attempted to flee the scene during an ID check. One guard from Şırnık village of Bitlis was wounded here, and was released following a short-lasting questioning.
A guerrilla team was ambushed by a Turkish troop accompanied by village guards near the Kewmık village of Şirvan at 10:00 on September 22. Following a clash that lasted four hours, guerrillas managed to arrive their base without suffering any casualties, while two Cobra type helicopters shelled the scene during the course of the fighting, which damaged the fields and animals of the local people in Sevê village.
ACTION AGAINST KARAKOÇAN BRANCH OF SPECIAL OPERATION TEAMS
Guerrillas carried out an action against the branch of special operation teams in Karakoçan district of Elazığ between 21:30 and 22:00 on September 22. The number of casualties left by the action couldn't be made clear.
Guerrillas infiltrated into the position of a counter unit affiliated to the Turkish army near the Hill Mala Xebat in Geliyê Harçik area of Dersim at 19:45 on September 22. The exact number of casualties suffered by the counter group couldn't be made clear.
HPG and TKPML/TİKKO guerrillas conducted a joint action against a police vehicle in Hozat district of Dersim on September 21. One of the policemen wounded in the action died at hospital later.
