HPG dealt heavy blow to Turkish army in Hakkari

Many Turkish soldiers killed in various actions carried out by the HPG guerrillas

The HPG Press Centre has released a statement about the actions carried out by its guerrillas within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign against the invading Turkish army.

The statement reads as follows:

"On August 27, at 15.10, our forces carried out an action against the invading forces positioned on Meclis hill in Çarçella area of Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) district.

Our forces have entered the enemy hill in this action where the hill was hit effectively hit on two arms, and three positions and one shelter were completely destroyed.

A total of 15 soldiers were killed on this hill which our forces heroically entered, while many soldiers were wounded.

Our comrade Musa Rojdin, who has gone over the enemy’s positions with great determination, has heroically fought against the enemy and fallen as martyr.

Following the action, the invading Turkish army bombed the area indiscriminately with howitzer and mortar shells, and carried away dead and wounded soldiers with Sikorsy helicopters amid the support of unmanned aerial vehicles and Cobra helicopters.

The invading forces have launched an operation in the area following this.

On August 28, at 07.00, our forces carried out an action against the invaders positioned on Lêlikan hill in the Bradost region of Southern Kurdistan’s Sidakan.

Five positions were destroyed on this enemy hill put under intense fire on four arms, and one soldier was identified killed. Four soldiers, one of which is a hill commander, was also wounded.

Following the action, the invading Turkish army indiscriminately bombed the surroundings of Lelikan and Bênesenanê villages. Some animals belonging to the locals of the region were killed in the bombardments.

On August 13, the invading army launched an operation in the Pirejman area of Amed’s Lice district. This operation was withdrawn without any results on August 14."
