HPG details actions by guerrillas

HPG (People's Defense Forces) guerrillas have carried out effective actions in response to the ongoing attacks against the Kurdish movement and people by the Turkish state.

HPG listed the guerrilla actions as follows;

An action by guerrillas targeted Mardin's Kerboran district governor's office at 04:00 on July 28. Following the action with B7 and heavy weapons which left the building damaged, the Turkish army launched an operation in Deywan village of Kerboran.

SABOTAGE ACTION AGAINST GAS AND OIL PIPELINES

At 19:30 on July 27, guerrillas conducted a sabotage action against the natural gas pipeline between Iran and Turkey in Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı. The Turkish soldiers that attempted to come to the scene following the action were also hit, which forced them to retreat.

One other sabotage action by guerrillas targeted the Yumurtalık oil pipeline passing through Silopi district of Şırnak at 02:00 on July 29.

Guerrillas conducted another action against the Artillery Regiment in Erciş district of Van at 21:00 on July 27. The number of casualties left by the action couldn't be verified.

ROAD CHECK INTENSIFIED

Guerrillas have the control in the central Çitkaya neighborhood of Amed since July 26 and Muş-Kulp road for the last two days.

Guerrillas stopped some 60 cars traveling on the road between Pasur and Lice districts of Amed on July 28 and held meetings with the people to inform them about the process.

ONE POLICE OFFICER DETAINED IN AMED

Guerrillas detained one police officer after closing the Amed-Bingöl road on July 28, since when Turkish security forces have blocked all the way between the two cities.

Guerrillas carried out an assassination action against the Turkish army's soldiers near a outpost under construction on a hill in Farqin (Silvan) district of Amed at 20:45 on July 28. One soldier was killed in the action after which Turkish troops started opening random fire around the outpost.

From 07.00 to 20:00 on July 28, Turkish troops closed the Karlıova and Bingöl roads and performed ID checks on the people traveling there.

REPORTS THAT THREE GUERRILLAS FELL MARTYR ARE NOT TRUE

Guerrillas carried out an action against the Kırıkxane outpost in Tatvan district of Bitlis between 21:20 and 22:00 on July 27, as a result of which one soldier was killed and three others were wounded. The action was conducted in protest against the isolation on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and in memory of the guerrillas martyred recently.

HPG said reports that three guerrillas were martyred in this action are not true.

Another action by Martyr Harun team targeted the Yedisu outpost in Bingöl at 14:30 on July 28. Turkish troops shelled the area for around 40 minutes as of 16:30 after the action, causing damage on the lands of the local villagers.

Two police officers were wounded in an action by guerrillas that targeted Cumhuriyet Police Station in Siirt province between 23:00 on July 23.

THREE POLICE OFFICERS PERFORMING ROAD CONTROL KILLED IN ACTION

Three police officers were killed in an assassination action which targeted police teams performing control on the road between Sason and Batman at 08:00 on July 29.

Following the action in memory of Martyr Şervan Varto, Turkish troops closed the Batman and Sason roads to traffic and launched an operation in the villages of Çemê Bro and Binonê in Sason, which is still continuing.

At 05:00 on July 28, guerrillas conducted an action against a military vehicle near Mavan outpost in Şemdinli district of Hakkari. Following the action, the Turkish army conducted a bombardment on the areas of Geliyê Reş, Tepê Kurê Mizgeftê and Martyr Beritan.

ID CONTROL BY HPG AND TIKKO GUERRILLAS IN DERSİM

Guerrillas affiliated to HPG and TİKKO (Turkey's Workers and Peasants’ Liberation Army, the armed forces of the TKP/ML, Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist-Leninist) closed the road and performed id controls between the villages of Armen and Çılga on Dersim-Hozat route between 15:00-19:30 on July 28.

Two vehicles of the Turkish army were burnt down here, upon which Turkish army shelled Dargeyik, Ermen and Kata hillsides with Cobra type helicopters at 19:30.

After being hit by guerrillas with heavy weaponry, Cobra type helicopters retreated from the region at 20:00. The shelling started a fire in the bombardment area.

Unmanned aerial vehicles of the Turkish army performed reconnaissance flights over the area till 01:00 at night.

Turkish military launched an operation in the villages of Xanuşağı, Karadere, Büyükköy and Bölükuşağı in Ovacık district of Dersim at the night of July 27. The operation is continuing with ambushes.

Four concurrent actions by guerrillas targeted the Traffic Division, Police Directorate, main entrance of the Military Barracks and two armored vehicles deployed outside the Municipality Building in Amed on July 27. Four police officers were wounded as a result of the actions, while one dead and three wounded were verified at the main entrance of the Military Barracks.

At 20:40 on July 28, guerrillas conducted an action against the Pil hill in Piran district of Amed. Four members of special teams were wounded in a clash that erupted in this area upon the action and lasted half an hour. Turkish army shelled the areas of Piran and Xeçek where a fire was started by the bombardment.
