HPG: Eight Turkish soldiers killed in actions by guerrillas

HPG reports that eight members of the Turkish occupation forces were killed in Northern and Southern Kurdistan.

Eight members of the Turkish occupation forces were killed in guerrilla actions in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq), according to a statement by the press centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG) on the current war situation. In addition, a military tent was destroyed.

The Turkish army continued its massive attacks on guerrilla areas in southern Kurdistan on Sunday and Monday. The HPG reports 16 attacks by outlawed bombs and chemical weapons, three airstrikes by fighter jets, 40 airstrikes by helicopters and dozens of artillery attacks with howitzers, mortars and heavy weapons.

Zap region

On 26 September, the Turkish invading forces in the resistance area of Sîda near the Şehîd Agir position were struck by guerrillas with heavy weapons. Three soldiers were killed and a military tent was destroyed.

Later in the day, another troop of soldiers was targeted by the guerrillas. The explosive devices prepared by the invading forces exploded on themselves. At least two Turkish soldiers were killed.

In the late afternoon, Turkish troops in the Çemço resistance area were struck by mobile guerrilla teams, and one soldier was killed.

On 27 September at 14:00, military personnel trying to enter guerrilla positions after an attack with chemical weapons were struck by mobile units. One Turkish soldier was killed, while the others had to retreat.

Girê Cûdî

On 26 September at 6.00 a.m., Turkish troops were struck by mobile units at Girê Cûdî, and one soldier was killed.

Attacks by the Turkish army with chemical weapons

On 26 September, positions in the Girê FM and Saca resistance areas as well as the Şehîd Felat position in the Sîda resistance area were bombed 16 times with prohibited bombs and chemical weapons.

Attacks by the Turkish occupation army

The Girê Şekîf area in Xakurkê and the Çemço resistance area were bombed three times by fighter jets. On 26 September, the resistance areas of Çemço, Kurojahro, Saca, Girê FM, Girê Cûdî and Girê Amêdî were bombed 40 times by attack helicopters. On the same day, drone activities took place in the mentioned region. In the Karker resistance area, the Turkish army tried to destroy the guerrillas’ positions with excavators.

On 25 September, the resistance areas of Girê Ortê in Metîna and Çemço and Girê FM were shelled dozens of times with howitzers, mortars and tanks.
