HPG: Four soldiers killed in Hakkari

HPG Media Centre announced that four soldiers of the Turkish army were killed as result of an action by guerrillas in the countryside of Hakkari province, North Kurdistan.

HPG Media Centre released a statement providing information regarding the continued actions by HPG (People's Defense Forces) and YJA-Star (Free Women's Troops) guerrillas against the Turkish army in North Kurdistan territory.

Accordingly, guerrillas carried out an action targeting Turkish soldiers in Ertuş area in Çelê (Çukurca) district of Hakkari at 16:00 on April 16. One soldier was killed as result of this action.

Guerrillas also hit the soldiers that came to the scene after this action, which left three more soldiers dead.

HPG added that Turkish troops shelled the area with mortar and howitzer fire and launched an operation in the wake of the action. The operation was retreated inconclusively the same day.
