Turkey is continuing its invasion of Southern Kurdistan with internationally banned weapons, while Iran also continues its air and ground attacks on guerrilla areas in the region. This was announced by the press office of the People's Defense Forces (Hêzên Parastina Gel, HPG).

According to the HPG, the Turkish army used warfare agents and prohibited bombs in 14 cases, affecting defensive positions in Zap and Metîna. Specifically, these attacks were directed against the guerrilla positions on Girê Amêdî and in Saca, Sîda and Çemço. The HPG also reported ten airstrikes by Turkish fighter jets on Gare, Metîna and Qandîl and dozens of artillery attacks with tanks and howitzers, including in the Zap region.

In the Karker resistance area, the Turkish army tried again to tear down guerrilla positions with construction machinery. The HPG recorded intensive air activity by Turkish reconnaissance drones over Saca, Girê Cûdî and Girê Amêdî. As before, the Iranian army's attacks focused again on the Xakurke region. In addition to numerous grenade hits, at least two air raids were recorded, affecting Girê Berbizinê and Hornê in the Goşînê area.

Guerrilla actions in Zap and Metîna

Despite intensive bombing of their areas, the guerrillas are continuing to carry out their actions against the occupation of South Kurdistan unabated. According to the overview, fighters from HPG and YJA Star repeatedly took action against Turkish troops on Friday, killing at least ten military personnel.

In Zap, the guerrillas struck more than a dozen times: in Sîda, mobile units repeatedly put enemy positions under heavy fire and prevented a chemical weapons attack through a sabotage action. In addition, another surveillance camera installed by the military, including a hidden explosive charge, was discovered and destroyed. Five guerrilla sabotage operations were carried out in Çemço.

In Metîna there was an attack with heavy weapons on soldiers of the Turkish army who were moving in the area around Girê Cûdî. Then HPG snipers were deployed. Later in the day, the bombardment of the area was thwarted by a successful small-arms guerrilla intervention. The balance sheet does not show whether there were losses in the ranks of HPG and YJA Star in the course of these actions.
