HPG reports actions by guerrillas and operation by Turkish army

Guerrillas hit Turkish soldiers in Ağrı and Çukurca, while Turkish army has started an operation in Dersim, Northern Kurdistan.

HPG Press Centre released a statement providing information about the actions carried out by guerrillas in Northern Kurdistan and the operation started by the Turkish army in Dersim.

DERSİM

At 06:00 on May 4th (today), Turkish army launched an operation in Nenikan area in Dersim's Ovacık district.

AĞRI

At 17:40 on May 1st, guerrillas carried out a targeted action aimed at the Teperız outpost in Bazîd (Doğubeyazıt) district of Ağrı, which left one soldier dead.

MARDİN

On May 2nd, Dargeçit district governor sent some people that included Arabs to Şırnak's Gabar area to cut down trees under the guise of road construction. These people did not heed the repeated warnings of guerrillas, upon which guerrillas burned a truck and digger of these people and released them after a warning against repetition of similar activities.

ÇUKURCA

At 11:00 on May 4th (today), guerrillas carried out an action on Koordine hill in Çelê (Çukurca) district of Hakkari, and hit the soldiers here from six directions. The action was followed by intense clashes and details will be declared to the public once available.
