HPG reports clash in Bitlis, airstrike on Medya Defense Zones

HPG announced that 2 soldiers were killed in a clash with guerrillas in the countryside of Bitlis province on May 27.

HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office released a statement providing information regarding clashes and attacks of the Turkish army.

Accordingly, a group of guerrillas engaged in a clash with Turkish soldiers they encountered near the Simban village located between Tatvan and Hizan districts of Bitlis at 01:00 on May 27. Two soldiers were killed and 2 others were wounded during the clash, after which Turkish army launched an operation and retreated from the area without yielding any results on May 28.

At between 10:00 and 10:30 on May 30, Turkish fighter jets conducted a bombardment on Berdêqaşo Hill and surroundings of the Mehmet Karasungur Cemetery in Qandil region of Medya Defense Zones.

HPG announced the martyrdom of a guerrilla with whom contact had been lost during a clash with Turkish soldiers near the Sefkan village in Dersim's Ovacık district in the evening of May 29.
