The Press and Communications Center of People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM) released a statement providing information about the recent actions carried out by guerrillas against the Turkish army in southern and northern Kurdistan.

The details and results of the actions within this scope are as follows;

“On May 29, at 17.45, YJA Star forces carried out an assassination action targeting the occupying Turkish army soldiers on the Lêlîkan hill in Sideka region within Southern Kurdistan, and one soldier was killed here.

On May 30, at 12.30 and 17.30, our YJA Star forces carried out assassination action targeting the occupying Turkish army soldiers on the Lêlîkan hill. In these actions, two enemy soldiers were killed.

On May 29, at 29.00, our forces carried out an action against the occupying Turkish army stationed on the Ronahi hill in the Barzan region within the territory of Southern Kurdistan. The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in the action where enemy positions and shelters were struck effectively. After the action, the occupying Turkish army bombarded the area indiscriminately.

On May 30, at 07.30, our forces carried out a sabotage against the occupying Turkish army positioned on the Xwêde hill in the Barzan region. In the action, a position was totally destroyed and five soldiers were killed while another one was wounded. After the action, the occupying Turkish army bombed the area with howitzers and mortars.

On the same day, at 15.00, our forces targeted a drone-type unmanned aerial vehicle that carried out a reconnaissance flight over the Ciloya Piçuk area of the Zap region in the Medya Defence Zones, and the drone was downed.

For a while, an enemy unit deployed on the Kelebek hill between Kola and Dêman villages of Hakkari's Şemzinan (Semdinli) was put under surveillance by our guerrilla forces. This enemy unit was targeted by our forces on May 30 at 19.00. Three soldiers were killed in this action.

On May 30, at 09.50 hours, our forces carried out a sabotage action targeting a Kirpi type armoured vehicle belonging to the occupying Turkish army near the Ceken village on the Bingöl and Elazig highway. The vehicle was damaged and the number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in the action. After the action, the occupying Turkish army launched an operation in the area. This operation was withdrawn without any results at 14.00 on the same day.

On May 21, a comprehensive operation was launched by the occupying Turkish army on the Şahin hill and its surroundings in Dersim with the support of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, warplanes, and Cobra helicopters. There were intense conflicts between our forces and the occupying Turkish army during the operation. Enemy forces suffered heavy losses in the conflicts spreading over two days. Our three comrades were martyred after fighting heroically against the enemy.”
