HPG reports guerrilla actions against Turkish occupation forces

According to HPG, the Turkish occupation forces in Southern Kurdistan were struck by the guerrillas with heavy weapons three times in the past two days. The Turkish army again used an unconventional bomb in Çemço.

According to the Press Centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG), mobile guerrilla teams struck the Turkish invading forces with heavy weapons in the Zap and Xakurke regions of Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) on Friday. On Thursday, a guerrilla action with a heavy weapon was carried out at Girê FM.

The action in the Zap region was directed against Turkish troops in the contested area of Çemço near the town of Amadiya. There, the Turkish army again used an unconventional bomb against a guerrilla position on 6 January. Dozens of other attacks with mortars, howitzers, tanks and heavy weapons targeted the guerrilla positions in Çemço, Sîda, Girê FM and Xakurke.

The HPG also reported that the areas of Şukê and Sitûnê in Avaşîn were bombed five times by fighter jets on 26 and 31 December and on 4 January.
