Many Turkish soldiers have been killed in retaliation actions conducted by HPG (People's Defense Forces) guerrillas in Northern Kurdistan in response to the ongoing attacks by Turkish army.

HPG Press Office provided the following details about the guerrilla actions between August 29 and 31.

HAKKARİ

Closing the road between Hakkari's Gerdiya and Şemzinan areas at 17:45 on August 31, guerrillas performed ID checks and informed the people about the current process.

Guerrillas also closed the road leading to Şemzinan Battalion, Garê, Katuna and Xelena guard posts at 11:00 on August 31, performing ID checks and informing the people about the current process.

Guerrillas conducted an action with heavy weapons against Gare guard post in Şemzinan area between 20:00-21:00 on August 31, but the number of casualties couldn't be verified.

Another action by guerrillas targeted a tank belonging to the Turkish army near Davuşa village in Hakkari's Çukurca district at 09:00 on August 29. The tank was damaged and one soldier was killed.

Guerrillas conducted another action against Gırê guard post at Zap border at 07:30 and 16:30 on August 31. While the casualties couldn't be verified, troops at Gırê and Eriş guard posts shelled Betkar and Sıpindar villages after the action.

Guerrillas hold control of the roads between Hakkari-Çukurca, Geliyê Doski- Oremar guard post in Yüksekova, Mêrgezere- Şıtaza and Oremar guard posts, Derya village- Bezelê guard post in Şemdinli.

TURKISH DRONE BROUGHT DOWN

Guerrillas brought down a drone of the Turkish army flying over Garê guard post in Hakkari's Şemdinli area near the border to Xakurkê at 14:00 on August 31.

In another action in memory of Martyr Andok, guerrillas bombed Hill Meşkan in Colomerg (Hakkari) from 07:00 to 11:00 on August 31.

One soldier was killed in a separate assassination action., after which Cobra type helicopters shelled the area at random, starting a fire which still continues.

VAN

Guerrillas sabotaged a convoy of the Turkish army heading from Elci guard post to Boşan guard post in Van's Başkale district at 09:25 on August 31. While the number of casualties couldn't be verified, one vehicle was damaged in the action which was carried out in memory of guerrillas fallen in Dersim and Botan.

Guerrillas performed ID check on the road between Van's Çaldıran district and Özalp's Kiyaniş area between 17:30 and 21:30 on August 31. Informing the people about the current process, guerrillas detained three village guards who were later released after promising to leave their job.

One soldier was killed in an assassination action by guerrillas targeting Kotom guard post in Van at 18:00 on August 31. Turkish army shelled the area at random after the action.

URFA

Two police were killed in an action conducted by guerrillas in Riha (Urfa) at 01:30 on August 29 in retaliation for the isolation of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and the policies of repression and massacre pursued by the Turkish state against the Kurdish people.

ŞIRNAK

Guerrillas destroyed three base stations in Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak at 17:40 on August 31.

SİİRT

In an action in memory of YJA Star guerrilla Ekin Van, Martyr Sarya team hit soldiers on their way to Şuxan guard post in Siirt's Pervari district at 17:40 on August 31. Four soldiers were killed and two others were wounded.

AMED

Turkish army continues military build-up in Lice-Karas-Hani triangle in Amed.

BİNGÖL

Special operation police teams have been dispatched to Bingöl's Karlıova district since August 29.

Village guards and soldiers have been deployed to the villages of Bedran, Alpira and Çır in Karlıova area in the evening of August 31. Their activity in the area continues.

Sikorsky type helicopters airdropped special units into the villages of Warê Erebo snd Xuşokê in Karlıova at 19:00 on August 31.

BİTLİS

Guerrillas hit a Sikorsky helicopter of the Turkish army on its way from Bitlis to Hidriz guard post on August 31 evening. Details of the action couldn't be made clear.

Holding the road between Bitlis and its Hizan district from 09:30 to 13:00 on August 31, guerrillas performed ID checks and informed the people about the current process. Guerrillas immediately responded to the fire opened from a car on YJA Star guerrillas during the road control.

Guerrillas continue their control on the roads between Tavan-Hizan and Bitlis-Hizan since August 12.

The road between Bitlis and Şêx Cuma guard post was closed by guerrillas on August 31 afternoon, who performed ID checks and informed the people about the process. A vehicle transporting supplies to the guard post was burnt down.

DERSİM

Guerrillas continue their control on the roads between Dersim-Erzincan and Dersim-Ovacık since August 17.
