HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office reported ongoing actions by guerrillas in response to the enhanced activity and attacks of the Turkish military.

Accordingly, HPG guerrillas conducted an effective action on the Xerxol outpost in Siirt's Pervari district on May 16. The action targeted the soldiers deployed on the hills near the outpost, and one panzer vehicle was also destroyed. The number of losses suffered by the Turkish troop couldn't be verified.

During the same day, guerrillas also hit 2 diggers involved in road construction around the Leylak hill at the border of Hakkari's Yüksekova district. Turkish troops bombarded Hill Sor and Hill Doçka in the wake of the action by guerrillas.

In the afternoon, one truck and one crane involved in road construction around Martyr Kendal Hill at the border of Şırnak's Uludere district were also hit by guerrillas. The road construction was therewith suspended.

On May 13, clashes erupted between a guerrilla unit and Turkish police group that encountered near Siirt's Baykan district. 4 soldiers were killed during the clashes that resumed after the dispatchment of Turkish reinforcing units to the area. One Turkish sergeant got wounded and one guerrilla fell fighting here.

HPG reported that Turkish jets shelled Martyr Mazlum, Martyr Soreş and Hakkari hills in Metina area of PKK-held Medya Defense Zones sporadically yesterday. Assaults by Turkish aircraft also targeted the Gundê Filleha area of Zap and Dola Bisvingê hamlet of Hedtanin last night.

HPG continued, reporting that 7 guerrillas fell martyr putting up a brave fight in Oremar area of Hakkari's Yüksekova district on May 14. HPG said guerrillas Ronî Zagros and Şahan Vestan managed to infiltrate into the area of the Turkish troop on Martyr Gafur hill and conquer the colonialism in its heart.
