HPG reports ongoing guerrilla actions and Turkish attacks

The Turkish air force bombed Southern Kurdistan 32 times on Monday. Apart from guerrilla positions, villages in the Medya Defence Zones were also affected. A wildfire broke out in Gare and a flock of sheep was struck in Metina.

According to the press centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG), two soldiers of the Turkish army were killed in Southern Kurdistan on Monday as a mobile guerrilla group struck a Turkish unit with heavy weapons in the resistance area Şehîd Adil in the Zap region. At Girê Amêdî in Metîna, the guerrillas destroyed a surveillance camera installed by Turkish troops as a booby trap. The bomb attached to the camera was detonated in a controlled manner by guerrillas.

Meanwhile, the Turkish Air Force bombed guerrilla areas in Zap, Gare and Metîna 32 times. In Gare, the bombing caused wildfires to break out around villages. An air strike in Metîna hit a flock of sheep near the village of Yekmal. The HPG stated that the bombing was deliberate and that numerous animals died.

On Monday, the Turkish army used chemical weapons and other banned weapons six times against guerrilla positions in the Girê Cûdî resistance area. Areas in the Zap were attacked dozens of times with howitzers and heavy artillery. In Karker and Şikefta Birîndara, the Turkish army continues to try to demolish positions and tunnels with construction machinery.
