HPG reports Turkish air raids in South Kurdistan

Turkish fighter jets bombed the guerrilla-held Xakurkê, Metina, Qandil, Zap and Avashin regions. The attacks left three guerrillas dead in Qandil.

The Press Center of People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM) released a statement reporting continued attacks by the Turkish army against guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq.

The bombardments targeted the regions of Xakurkê, Metina, Qandil, Zap and Avashin.

According to HPG-BIM, Turkish fighter jets targeted the following locations:

- Golka area in Metina region on May 26,

- Hill Martyr Sarya in Xakurke region, Şêxzade area and surroundings of Lolan river on May 28,

- Hill Savaş and Hill Hiwa areas and Kalatuka area in Qandil region on May 28,

- Gundê Filleha area in Zap region on May 28,

- Hill Kartal in Avashin region on May 28.

- Hill Cehennem and Gundê Filleha areas in Zap region on May 29.

HPG-BIM stated that three guerrillas lost their lives as a result of the bombardments carried out by the Turkish army in Qandil region. The statement added that ID details of the fallen guerrillas will be announced later on.
