HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office reported in its daily statement that the psychological warfare, a major part of the Turkish army's war in Kurdistan, is being enhanced by the warmongering media of the Turkish state.
HPG refuted the Turkish media reports that the air strikes on guerrilla zones is inflicting losses on PKK fighters, and denounced that the Turkish media also deceived the public opinion by spreading such fabricated news.
The statement by HPG underlined that guerrilla forces suffered no casualties as a result of the air strikes conducted by Turkish aircraft on April 29, adding that the aerial attack caused great material damage on the civilian settlements in the region.
GUERRILLA ACTION IN ŞIRNAK
HPG continued, reporting that guerrillas conducted an action targeting the Gundikê Melê Battalion hill in Şırnak at 06:00 on April 29. While the number of casualties inflicted on Turkish troops here couldn't be clarified, Turkish forces bombed the areas of Çiyayê Fillehan and Bestê Meryemê till 07:00 on April 30.
INTENSE AIR STRIKES ON MEDYA DEFENSE ZONES
According to the HPG statement, Turkish jets bombarded the Tabura Ereban hamlet of Avashin region between 23.00 – 23.30 on April 29.
On April 29, Turkish jets conducted further air strikes against;
- Martyr Ruken area between 00.30 – 01.00,
- Lelikan and Geliyê Reş hamlets in Xakurkê between 23.00 – 00.00,
- Bolê village, Kortek area, surroundings of Ebubekir and Sılê villages as well as the villages of Xobiyar, Bokriskan and Bredê between 23.00 – 01.30.
SOLDIERS FORCING PEOPLE TO EVACUATE THEIR VILLAGES
Recalling that Turkish military had launched an operation in Xumarov and Geliyê Tuyê hamlets of Hakkari's Şemdinli district on April 24, HPG said Turkish soldiers broke into houses of local people in Tuyê, Qola, Nêrduşa, Deman, Tisê, Helenkê and Meleyan villages, conducting searches in houses and putting pressure on people to evacuate their villages.
HPG said Turkish soldiers also pressurized the village guards in the region to participate in operation which was retreated inconclusively on April 25.
According to the HPG statement, guerrillas hit a Turkish helicopter that airdropped soldiers on Leylek hell in Oremar region of Hakkari's Yüksekova district at 10:00 on April 29. The helicopter retreated from the area after the action by guerrillas.
