HPG Press Centre released the details of the actions carried out by guerrillas in the countryside of Erzurum, Ağrı and Hakkari provinces, North Kurdistan.

ERZURUM

HPG stated that the Turkish army launched an operation in the Nadırbaz village area of Erzurum's Şenkaya district on 21 April. On April 26, guerrillas ambushed one arm of the operation. Two soldiers were killed and two soldiers were wounded, one being a lieutenant in this group, who were hit with individual weapons and hand grenades at close range. After the action, a Sikorsky helicopter retrieved the dead and wounded soldiers from the area while this arm of operation was withdrawn. At 18.00 the same day, 2 Cobra type helicopters indiscriminately shelled the scene and its surroundings. The operation was withdrawn inconclusively in the evening on the same day.

AĞRI

On April 29, guerrillas put the hill under Kozlu military division in Bazid (Doğubeyazıt) district under their surveillance. Guerrillas later hit the commander of the military unit positioned on the hill with medium automatic and individual weapons. The unit commander on the hill was killed in this action which was carried out to commemorate the guerrillas martyred at Besta.

HAKKARİ

On April 27, at 10.00 am, guerrillas carried out an action against the soldiers conducting a check on the road near Karataş outpost in Hakkari's Çelê (Çukurca) district. One of the soldiers who were shot effectively in this action was killed and one other was wounded.

On April 28 at 12:00 pm, YJA Star forces carried out targeted actions against soldiers gathered in Hill Sor outpost in Çelê on from two directions. One soldier was killed in this action.

At 12:00 on April 28, guerrillas hit the soldiers on move at Hill Sor outpost. The number of dead and wounded soldiers left in this action could not be clarified.

Another action by guerrillas targeted the soldiers positioned on Koordine hill on the border of Çelê on April 29. While guerrillas struck two positions of the soldiers with mortars, the number soldiers killed or wounded here could not be clarified.

At 16:00 on April 28, guerrillas hit the Sikorsky helicopters as they were about to airdrop soldiers in Deriyê Grana territory in Hakkari's Gever (Yüksekova) district. The helicopters were forced to retreat from the area without completing the mission.

AIR STRIKES

In the morning of April 29, Turkish army's warplanes bombarded the Martyr Kendal hill in Heftanin area of guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory.
