HPG Media Center issued a written statement on recent guerilla actions and clashes. HPG stated that state forces received heavy blows and had to end their operations during the dirty war they carry out in Kurdistan, and were trying to yield results through the use of its war media.

In its statement, HPG announced that Turkish soldiers launched an operation near the Bêmbo village of Hakkari’s Şemzinan district between 04:00 and 04:30 on May 22 with 18 armored vehicles and several drones. Intense clashes broke out between HPG guerillas and Turkish soldiers, and two soldiers got injured. HPG noted that soldiers damaged a civilian’s vehicle, attacked villagers’ houses, detained some villagers, killed a young person called Sami, and laid ambushes soon after they ended their operation around 19:30 on the same day.

SKORSKY HELICOPTER DAMAGED

HPG announced that guerillas used heavy weaponry to damage a Skorsky-type helicopter between the villages of Xalanê and Kertinis in Hakkari’s Yüksekova district at 16:00 on May 23. 7 soldiers inside the helicopter got injured, and the vehicle was forced to land in Yüksekova hospital.

MANY SOLDIERS KILLED IN GEVER

The media center stated that guerillas carried out an action against soldiers positioned in between the Museka and Mamreş outpost in the Oremar region of Hakkari’s Yükseova district, and 3 soldiers were killed and 2 soldiers got injured during this action.

HPG announced that guerillas carried out an action from two different directions against nearly 150 soldiers near Martyr Karker valley between 14:00 and 15:00 on May 23, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.

HPG guerillas hit a digger that was used in the construction of a road near Martyr Zerdeşt Hill at 16:30 on May 23, and succeeded in stopping the construction.

Guerillas also carried out an assassination action against soldiers positioned at Geniş Hill in Hakkari’s Şemzinan district and injured one soldier at 22:00 on May 23.

AMBUSHES IN HAKKARİ

HPG reported that soldiers have been carrying out ambushes near the Seyida and İde villages of Hakkari since May 22.

GUERILLAS’ ROAD BLOCK

HPG stated that guerillas blocked a road near Bitlis’ Şêx Cuma region and informed the public about the current political process between 07:00 and 18:00 on May 23.

3 GUERILLAS MARTYRED

HPG noted that 3 guerillas fell as martyrs as they heroically fought state forces that were carrying out an operation in the forests of Bingöl’s Solhan district on May 20, and shared the following ID information of the martyrs:
