HPG: “The invading army suffered heavy losses in Siirt”

HPG Press Center announced that guerrillas entered the Turkish invasion forces’ positions as part of a revolutionary operation in Siirt and caused heavy losses. 15 soldiers have been killed in the action and over 10 have been wounded.

HPG Press Center (HPG-BIM) announced that the guerrilla forces have launched “the Martyr Delal Amed and Besta Martyrs Revolutionary Operation in the Botan region”.

HPG-BIM said, “In this context, and on the anniversary of the Heroism Week, our guerillas have carried out an action against the invading Turkish army soldiers and their counterterrorism groups who attempted to secure the Ilisu Dam near the Girdara village in Siirt’s Çiyayêreş region on March 30 at 05:40.”

HILL TAKEN UNDER CONTROL, ALL POSITIONS DESTROYED

HPG-BIM stated that the hill where the Turkish army units took position on was taken under intense fire at close range and said: “Our forces conquered the whole hill in about 5 minutes.”

The following details on the outcome of the action were also provided: “Our forces who entered the hill have destroyed enemy positions one by one. Our forces went to 10 enemy bodies and confiscated many weapons and military equipment from the enemy. As a result of this action, 15 enemy soldiers were killed and over 10 enemy soldier were wounded.”

CONFISCATED WEAPONS

HPG stated that many weapons have been confiscated, and listed them as follows:

- 2 G3 infantry rifles and 5 cartridges, 1 assault vest
- 2 AK-47 Kalashnikovs
- Large amounts of military vital equipment

A4 WEAPON SET ON FIRE AND DESTROYED

HPG-BIM added: “Our forces also set on fire and destroyed an A4 heavy weapon.”

The statement said, “One hour after the action the Turkish army carried away their casualties in four rounds with Sikorsky helicopters supported by UAVs and Cobra type helicopters.”

The statement added that the invading forces launched an operation in the region after removing their casualties and that “the operation continues still.”

REVOLUTIONARY VICTORY MOVEMENT IN SERHAT

HPG-BIM also shared information on the “Revolutionary Victory Movement” launched by the guerilla in the Serhat State and announced that an action had been carried out on April 3 at 08:00 against a Connect type vehicle that left the Serêkanî Outpost in Agri’s Dogubeyazit (Bazîd) district transporting soldiers.
HPG-BIM said: “This vehicle was hit and damaged at close range, while the number of casualties could not be ascertained.”

SERIES OF SABOTAGES IN ŞEMDİNLİ: 5 SOLDIERS DEAD

The announcement also said that on April 3 at 17:45 guerilla forces carried out a sabotage action on a Turkish army unit on the Hill Xwede territory in the Adilbeg area in Hakari’s Şemdinli (Şemzînan) district.

HPG-BIM stated that “4 enemy soldiers were killed in the military unit as far as could be ascertained”.

The statement announced a series of sabotage actions carried out on April 4 as well: “On April 4, at 08:45, our forces carried out a series of sabotage actions on the Hill Xwede territory again. 1 enemy soldier was killed in these actions as far as could be ascertained.”

DRONE DOWNED IN ULUDERE

HPG-BIM also announced that one drone was downed in Uludere: “On April 2 at 14:00, our forces carried out an action against an invading Turkish army drone type UAV on a scouting mission in the Hill Kuroşino area in Şırnak’s Uludere district. Our forces have targeted, hit and downed the drone.”
