HPG: Turkish army continues to commit war crimes

The invading Turkish army carried out 13 chemical attacks against the guerrilla resistance positions near the Çemço region in the Medya Defense Zones.

HPG’s Press Centre released a statement providing information about the ongoing invasion operation of the Turkish state in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

“The invading Turkish army bombarded the guerrilla resistance positions using chemical weapons 13 times from 13:00 until midnight on January 2. The Turkish forces directed toxic fumes into the guerrilla resistance positions by burning plastic materials and car tires. Furthermore, it bombed guerrilla areas 6 times by fighter jets and dozens of times with howitzers, tanks and heavy weapons,” said the HPG statement on Tuesday, detailing the attacks as follows:

Attacks carried out by the invading Turkish army with banned bombs and chemical weapons:

The guerrilla resistance positions near the Çemço region of the Sheladize sub-district in Amediye were bombed 13 times with chemical weapons from 13:00 until midnight on January 2. In the meantime, the Turkish forces directed toxic fumes into the guerrilla resistance positions by burning plastic materials and car tires.

Attacks carried out by the invading Turkish army:

On January 2, the vicinity of Gundê Kanîsarkê in Garê and the Deşta Kafya area were bombed 6 times by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 2, the Girê Hakkarî Resistance Area near the Amediye district, the Çemço region in the Sheladize sub-district and the guerrilla resistance positions near the Sîda village were bombed dozens of times with howitzers, tanks and heavy weapons.”
