The Turkish Air Force has bombed the Gare and Qendîl regions in South Kurdistan dozens of times since Friday. The HPG denied reports of guerrilla losses saying they were part of special war propaganda.
The Press Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) has denied reports published in Turkish media about guerrilla losses in South Kurdistan.
In a statement the HPG said: "The Turkish occupation army is bombing the Medya Defense Areas from the air and from the ground and is launching new reports of our losses every day in its special war media.
These statements also include other parts of Kurdistan. At the moment, the Turkish army is stuck in the Medya Defense Areas and is making no progress with its tactics. It cannot achieve its goal and the guerrillas are dealing it more blows every day. Even the collaboration and betrayal with which it wanted to overcome this situation have not helped it.
Therefore, the Turkish army is resorting to special war lies and reports fabricated on the desk and reporting alleged guerrilla losses. Our patriotic people and the public can be sure that the reports of our losses in these bombings are completely false. We have not suffered a single loss in the bombings mentioned. The Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas are able to thwart attacks due to their experience by moving and staying in their places. This prevents the Turkish army from weakening us with its air operations and the simultaneous bombing of several places."
Guerrilla resistance in the western Zap region
In the statement, the HPG also reported on guerrilla resistance actions against the Turkish invasion troops in the western Zap region. According to the information, fighters from the Free Women's Units (YJA Star) destroyed an enemy position in the Girê Amêdî area on Friday morning by firing heavy weapons. In the evening, an attempted advance by the Turkish army in the area was stopped with semi-automatic weapons. In Girê Bahar, the guerrillas intervened against an airborne operation last night.
Attacks by the Turkish army
Regarding the latest attacks by the Turkish army, the HPG reported that on Friday prohibited explosives were used four times against guerrillas' tunnel systems in Girê Cûdî and Girê Amêdî.
The regions of Gare and Qendîl have been bombed 22 times by fighter jets since Friday. The targets of the attacks were the areas of Askolkê, Girê Roj, Girê Şehîd Cihan and Boblîskan in Qendîl as well as Kanî Sarkê, Deşta Kafya, Gûzê, Sêdarê, Dêreşê, Mêranê, Meyrokê and Dêrîk in Gare.
