A huge blast has occurred during the passing of a police shuttle vehicle in Şırnak's Silopi district Monday evening. At least 3 people died and 20 others got injured, including 5 policemen.

According to reports, the violent blast occurred as a police shuttle passed near the Bilen football field carpet on the historic Silk Road. A number of ambulances were rushed to the scene in the wake of the blast which also left the windows of many houses around broken.

Initial reports say that 3 people have died and 20 others including 5 policemen got injured as a result of the explosion. Those injured have been taken to Silopi Public Hospital.

The police shuttle has reportedly become unusable after the violent blast, from the scene of which sounds of gunshots could be heard.
