Intensified military reinforcement to the villages of Amed

Military dispatchment continues to villages in Amed’s Silvan, Hazro and Kulp districts. Checkpoints have been set up every 5 kms.

Dispatchment of thousands of soldiers and special operations units to the region continues along with the curfew declared in 25 villages in Amed’s Silvan, Hani, Hazro and Kulp districts. The arriving special operations units have set up dozens of checkpoints on the roads leading from the center to Amed’s districts. Since yesterday evening, all vehicles going to Hazro, Silvan, Kulp and Pasur are being stopped and searched thoroughly.

In the operation of the last two days, the special operations units and village guards are turning the District Gendarmerie Command in Hazro into a shelter. Military stockpiling of food along with diggers and trucks suggests the ban will continue for a long time.

Thousands of soldiers and special operations units dispatched to the region have set up camp in schools. There has been significant UAV and helicopter activity in the morning hours. All communication is lost with people in curfew zones.
