According to Kolbarnews, on 9 January, a group of kolbars in the Bane region of Sanandaj (Sine), in East Kurdistan, were attacked by Iranian state forces.

It was reported that a kolbar named Şoreş Xerguşi (33), registered in the Urmia population, was killed in the attack.

On the same day, a kolbar named Emir Ilahi (25) was injured as a result of an attack on the Newsud border in Kermanshan.

According to the data published by Kolbarnews, at least 32 kolbars lost their lives on the borders of Eastern Kurdistan in 2023, and 261 kolbars were injured in attacks. Most of the Kolbars were killed or injured by Iranian state forces.
