Iraqi army trying to prevent the march of Shengal people against siege

The Iraqi army is trying to prevent the people of Shengal from marching against the military siege.

While hundreds of people in Shengal want to march to the border in protest of the Iraqi army's policy of besieging Shengal and building a border wall, the Iraqi army is attempting to halt the march by blocking their paths with significant numbers of forces.

The Iraqi government is employing new tactics to strengthen the pressure and siege on Shengal. For over a month, the Iraqi army has been constructing wire barriers around Shengal, particularly in the area bordering Rojava. Simultaneously, it continues to construct a wall between Rojava and Shengal.

PEOPLE MARCH AGAINST SIEGE

Today, the people of Shengal marched in protest of the policies of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi's government. Hundreds of people marched from Xanesor and Sinun to an Iraqi army base near the border in Tirbika.

The Iraqi army, on the other hand, violently obstructed the march of the masses and prevented them from going. The Iraqi army was informed prior to the march, but it was alleged that the Iraqi military that impeded the passage of the people did so under the guise of not being informed.

It was also discovered that several Arabs who wanted to participate in the march had been threatened by Iraqi forces not to do so.

Negotiations to end the march are still going on, but no agreement has been reached thus far.
