Iraqi forces take over Pirde town between Kirkuk and Hewler

Following clashes between the peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army and Federal Police Force, Pirde town has been taken by Iraqi forces.

After the Iraqi army forces and Hashd al-Shaabi forces took control of most of the area from Kirkuk to the 36th parallel, Iraqi army forces and Federal Police Forces have set out towards Kirkuk’s Pirde town this morning.

In Pirde town, 40 km from Hewlêr, clashes broke out between the peshmerga forces and Iraqi forces. Iraqi forces took control of the town following brief clashes.

Reports say clashes continue occasionally in certain spots.
