Kurdish administration’s share of the budget was cut more than 4 percent, from 17 percent to 12.6 percent. According to the new budget, Hewler will get 5.58 billion USD in 2018.
Iraqi government predicts that 550 thousand barrels of oil will be exported from Kirkuk and the Kurdistan region.
The lion share of the budget will go to the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Defence. Two ministries will get more than 15 billion USD which is about 17 percent of the total budget.
The parliament also removed “Kurdistan region” term from the text of the resolution and replaced it with “the provinces”.
Two Kurdish ministers and several Kurdish MPs of the Iraqi parliament rejected the 2018 budget but it was approved with the votes of MPs of Shite and Sunni Iraqi parties.
