Turkish army has intensified its deployment of soldiers along the borderline of Şırnak province where military operations are increasing recently. Over the past month, the Turkish state has dispatched over 300 tanks, heavy weaponry and a large number of troops to a location close to the Khabur border crossing.
The heavy weapons deployed here are also used in some of the operations conducted by the Turkish army in the rural areas of Cudi and Mount Gabar. Reports suggest that Turkish troops have also been sent to Turkey's military camps in South Kurdistan through the border crossing.
On the other hand, Turkish military activity has also increased recently in Şırnak's Uludere district which is located on South Kurdistan borderline.
Soldiers and village guards (armed locals serving the army) have set up temporary checkpoints at several locations in the border area, and large numbers of tanks have been dispatched to the area bordering Heftanin region of PKK-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory.
Turkish army has also dispatched a large number of heavy weapons to the Beton Pınar Border Outpost in Uludere and the outposts around Andaç (Qeşûra) and Roboski villages.
