ISIS gangs attacked the oil field in Alas region at Salahaddin-Kirkuk border Sunday night.

Northern Oil Police Directorate announced that police forces have harshly responded and repelled the attack against Alas oil field at Kirkuk border.

According to the police statement, some ISIS gangs were killed and some others wounded as a result of the retaliation, while other armed elements of ISIS took away those wounded from the area.

The Northern Oil Police Directorate said that some groups under Hashd al-Shaabi – 21st Artillery Unit and the 88th Regiment of the 2nd Brigade- provided support to the police forces against the attack carried out by the terrorist organization.
