KCK: An attack on one part is an attack on all of Kurdistan
KCK has issued a statement on the Turkish army’s massacre in Southern Kurdistan and said these attacks are carried out against all Kurds and all of Kurdistan.
KCK has issued a statement on the Turkish army’s massacre in Southern Kurdistan and said these attacks are carried out against all Kurds and all of Kurdistan.
KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-presidency released a statement about the massacre of civilians by the Turkish army in Southern Kurdistan and called on all Kurdistani forces to take a stance against the massacre.
In the written statement, KCK said: “The AKP government has upped their massacre count once again. They have continued their massacres in Bashurê (Southern) Kurdistan and the Medya Defense Zones with the massacre of 7 Kurdish villagers gathering dry wood in Avashin. This has taken their recent massacres in Bakurê (Northern) Kurdistan over to Southern Kurdistan. We commemorate our 7 martyrs massacred in the aerial attack with respect and gratitude and promise to crown their martyrdom with a free Kurdistan and a democratic Middle East.”
BASHUR SHOULD SPEAK OUT AGAINST THE TURKISH STATE ATTACKS
The KCK statement continued with a demand to take a stance against the massacre. The statement continues as follows:
“It is a known fact that the Turkish state has carried out hundreds of massacres in Northern Kurdistan for decades. And in Southern Kurdistan, dozens of Kurdish people, children, women, young and old, have been massacred in aerial bombings to date. As if the AKP government is rightful in carrying out massacres in Southern Kurdistan, they have been met with silence. There has been silence in the face of dozens of Southern Kurdistani people being massacred by Turkish state jets. The Southern Kurdistan government and the Southern Kurdistani political parties have stayed silent in the face of massacres against Southern Kurdistani citizens, like they were silent in the face of massacres and destruction of cities in Northern Kurdistan. Although there has been more of a reaction against the most recent massacre, this reaction has dwarfed against the magnitude of the massacre. The Turkish state is causing civilian deaths and injuries in constant attacks against not only Northern and Southern Kurdistan, but also in Rojava. All these make it imperative that our people, democratic institutions and political parties in all four parts of Kurdistan raise their voice against the AKP government and its fascist chief. The Kurdish people should display the will and the stance of the Kurd against this anti-Kurdish genocidal government everywhere they are.”
THE TURKISH STATE IS AGAINST ALL KURDS
KCK said that the Turkish state isn’t just against the people of Northern Kurdistan, and that the AKP government’s policies in the recent years has clearly shown that they are against all Kurds. The statement continued with the following:
“The genocidal and colonialist mindset in Turkey is leading the way in anti-Kurdish sentiment in the Middle East. The AKP government wants to continue with anti-Kurdish sentiment through ISIS and Al Nusra, and has turned to policies to ensure a classic regional anti-Kurdish alliance as a result of the Kurds neutralizing ISIS and Al Nusra. The anti-Kurdish AKP government is utilizing all inhumane methods and practices to crush the PKK and the Kurdish Freedom Movement, the most dynamic forces of the Kurds. The recent massacres against civilians by Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles and jets are geared towards breaking the will of the Kurdish people and eliminating the Kurdish Freedom Movement. With these deliberate massacres, the state wants to break the will of the people for freedom and democracy and turn them away from the struggle.
AN ATTACK ON ONE IS AN ATTACK ON ALL PARTS OF KURDISTAN
It is a fact that in the ongoing World War III in the Middle East, an attack on one part of Kurdistan is an attack against all Kurds. In this sense, to achieve a free and democratic life in all parts of Kurdistan, first and foremost there must be a common stance and struggle against the anti-Kurdish policies of the AKP government. Without opposing the Turkish state’s anti-Kurdish policies, a free and democratic life can’t be achieved and no gains can be guaranteed in any part of Kurdistan. In this sense, the Turkish state’s attacks on Southern Kurdistan should be opposed in all parts of Kurdistan. The Turkish state and the whole world should be shown that the Kurdish people’s lives also have value.
The attacks the jets carry out in Southern Kurdistan have turned into constant torture for our people. The loud flights and constant bombings have turned life to hell for the Kurdish people. No state or political power has the right to constantly set fire to a country’s forest or carry out bombings with loud fighter jets to make life miserable for a people. These attacks are not only openly anti-Kurdish, they are also crimes against humanity and nature.
SILENCE IS COMPLICITY WITH THE MASSACRE
It is high time the Turkish state jets’ attacks against Southern Kurdistan are stopped. Not opposing these attacks mean complicity with the massacres. In this sense, all Southern Kurdistani political parties should oppose these attacks in a joint stance. Our Southern Kurdistani people should rise up in the face of this massacre. With this massacre, the struggle against the Turkish state invasion in Southern Kurdistan should also be increased. Without fighting the Turkish state invasion in Southern Kurdistan, it is impossible for Southern Kurdistan to achieve independence and free will.
With this massacre, the Southern Kurdistani political parties and our people should demand the Turkish state withdraw their military forces in Southern Kurdistan immediately, and should raise the struggle against these invading forces in case they don’t.
