KCK calls for all-out resistance for Öcalan's freedom

KCK called for all-out resistance by the Kurdish people and democracy forces in order for the freedom of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan who has been held in aggravated isolation for 7 months now.

KCK (Kurdistan Communities' Union) Executive Council Co-Presidency has released a statement calling for all-out resistance by the Kurdish people and democracy forces in order for the freedom of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan who has been held in aggravated isolation for 7 months now.

KCK underlined that the atrocity committed against the Kurdish people is in parallel with the atrocity committed against the Kurdish people, noting that no distinction should be made between the policies pursued towards the Kurdish people and their leader.

Recalling that Öcalan has been denied meeting with his family and lawyers for 7 months now, KCK said this isolation and psychological pressure was a deliberate policy which the mainstream media tried to distort by means of fabricated and immoral news such as Öcalan himself wanted to be isolated.

According to KCK, the Turkish state is waging a war against the Kurdish Freedom Movement and people by means of any kind of repression and dirty policies, and on the other hand pursuing a war against the Kurdish leader in the same way.

KCK recalled that Öcalan had warned the İmralı delegation during their latest visit that it could be their last meeting after the AKP government and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan rejected the Dolmabahçe Agreement and denied the presence of the Kurdish question and the negotiation table.

"The AKP government has subjected Kurdish people's leader to aggravated isolation in order to avoid the exposure of its war and policies against the Kurdish people and the freedom movement."

CALL FOR RESISTANCE IN ORDER FOR THE ENDING OF ÖCALAN'S ISOLATION

KCK remarked that the peoples and democracy forces of Turkey should adopt an attitude against the AKP policies, and continued by calling for objection and resistance by the Kurdish people and all democracy forces in order for the ending of İmralı isolation and freedom of the Kurdish leader.

"The attitude towards the leader of a folk amounts to the attitude towards that folk. Nobody should make a distinction between the policies pursued against our people and those pursued against Leader Apo. The severe war against our people is a manifestation of the war against Leader Apo. For this reason, it is esential to resist and object to the war against Leader Apo to end the war against our people as well."

KCK said it was not possible to tolerate the aggravated isolation and war pursued against Öcalan, and underlined that "Approach towards Leader Apo is a reason of war or peace to us. The people should therefore stand up immediately and show the whole world that this policy against our Leader is unacceptable."

‘AKP GOVERNMENT HAS ESCALATED THE WAR'

KCK noted that the AKP government has escalated the war severely and this has also been proved by the remarks of Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu who has recently vowed to keep the military operations going during the winter as well.

KCK also recalled that; "Attacks on guerrilla forces and the Kurdish people are going on everywhere at the moment. Kurdish youths, children and women are being murdered in several cities and districts every day as it has now become normal to murder Kurds in Turkey. Acquittal of the murderers has become a kind of order for killing Kurds."

One other point highlighted by the KCK in its statement is the fact that the fascist practices, attacks and mass killings of the AKP government have gone much beyond those witnessed during 90's and the 12 September coup period.

"While the governments of those times would kill the people through illegal and counter forces, the AKP government is conducting its fascist attacks by its official police and military forces without ever hiding its face. Neither during 90's and the 12 September coup period were the Kurdish areas subject to such an isolation nor were they targeted with such an intense use of artillery fire and heavy weaponry. No folk in any other part of the world has been left without food and water and suffered attacks at such a level."

KCK described this wave of severe attacks against the Kurdish people as a totally fascist offensive serving cultural genocide and exploitation, and stressed that people in every single village, neighborhood, district and city of Kurdistan should stand up and demand an end to the mass killing of Kurdish children, youths, women and elderly.

According to KCK, killing of civilians and youths means murder of all Kurds and democracy forces, adding that a silence on these attacks and killings amounts to a silence on the killing and suppression of all Kurdish people and democracy forces.

'PEOPLE SHOULD RESIST WITH THE SPIRIT OF JULY 14'

Drawing attention to the AKP government's growing atrocity against the people in Kurdish cities in line with the aggravated isolation it imposes on the Kurdish leader, KCK said attacks on both Öcalan and the Kurdish movement have reached an unacceptable point and do target the free and democratic living of the Kurdish people.

"We call upon all our people and democracy forces to stand up and carry out resistance everywhere in response to the attacks targeting our people and leader. No matter what the circumstances are, it is time to resist with the spirit of July 14 in Amed prison."
