KCK Dicle: Resistance must spread to defeat fascism

KCK executive Hüseyin Dicle said resistance must spread everywhere to defeat fascism.

KCK executive Hüseyin Dicle, spoke to ANF about the Turkish government's strategic campaign of extermination against the Kurdish people and its organizations. In view of the increasing aggressiveness of the AKP / MHP regime, widespread resistance must be provided at all levels.

The AKP and the MHP used to be very critical of each other. Why are they together today and why do they show such fascist aggressivity?

The fascist coalition of AKP and MHP continues to attack the Kurds, Kurdish existence and the entire organized structure. It has set itself this as a strategic goal and that is the basis of fascism in Turkey. The Kurds should be destroyed as a people, as a society, as an organized force and as a will. This has become even clearer with the last attacks. It's not just about the PKK, it's about the very existence of the Kurds. With the colonization of Kurdistan and the genocide against the Kurdish people, the system in Turkey has increasingly turned towards fascism. The AKP-MHP-Ergenekon coalition is building on this.

One has to look at this matter in a historical context. Turkey was established as a colonial state and is protected by international hegemonic forces. These two peculiarities maintain fascism alive. What brings the AKP and MHP together is their mutual hostility to the Kurds. To prevent that the current situation in the Middle East does not develop to the advantage of the Kurds, they strive to update the colonial order and thereby reintegrate it into capitalist modernism, the imperialist system and its interests in Kurdistan. Because of this, they are becoming increasingly aggressive.

Clearly there is resistance from the PKK against AKP / MHP. How do you assess the reaction and actions from the area of democratic politics and in society?

There is a struggle. There is fighting in the area of democratic politics, on the streets and everywhere. Our movement is leading this struggle and has always positioned itself. The guerrillas resist. There is also resistance in society, but fascism is still pervasive and continue to attack. So this attitude must be strengthened, anti-fascism must be anchored in the minds. A very special war is being waged in which the truth is distorted. This influence must be broken, there must be clarity.

In AKP / MHP fascism, the strategic decision was taken to destroy the very existence of Kurds from the face of the earth. This is confirmed by the violent attacks on all levels. Elected MPs are deprived of their mandates, town halls are appointed trustees, politicians are put in prison, torture has become routine in and outside of prisons.

What can be done about it?

There has to be constant action to make these attacks go nowhere. There are reactions in the political sphere, within society and on the street, but the goal must be to smash the fascist regime altogether. As long as this does not take place and the attacks are only protested with predictable actions, fascism will continue to renovate itself.

Society has responded in the general and local elections. The Kurdish and the other peoples of Turkey do not want fascism. Because fascism is the enemy of the people, society and humanity. There is nothing this system can give to humanity.

Organized activities must be in place to avert this threatening danger to the very existence of peoples. This requires networking and leadership. The leadership role is in the area of democratic politics, but also among young people and women. Ultimately, the attitude of the peoples will be decisive.

The youth and all other leading groups must become more agile and active. Some resistance has developed, but it needs to spread further. This resistance is effective and leads to results. It will undermine the fascism of the AKP and MHP and will bring it to an end. The youth must play their role better. For example, the "Children of Fire Initiative” takes important actions that have meaning. Such actions have to take place much more; they have to spread everywhere.

All young people living in Turkey and Bakur [North Kurdistan] must be ‘children of fire’. There must be fire everywhere, the resistance must be expanded. Resistance is a legitimate stance against fascism. Without resistance, the system does not allow a single person to take to the streets, two people to come together, and democratic protests to arise. No constructive development can take place in a police state without resistance. If resistance is not the basic stance in street actions, the strength needed to produce results does not arise. For this reason, these resistance actions must be expanded. YPS and YPS-Jin also take action. There must be more.

The guerrillas are resisting everywhere, but we must be aware that fascist aggression and colonialism can only be defeated if the whole of society resists. This cannot be achieved only with guerrilla campaigns. It is very important to fight everywhere. Resistance has to spread in society, young people have to be more involved, everyone has to develop these actions further. What fundamentally weakens fascism are strategic actions. This is the strategic dimension of the current phase and should be understood by everyone. The strategic work of this time is resistance. Anything else will produce no results. It will only lead to even greater repression from the system, more people are arrested and silenced. Everyone should be aware of that.

Do you have a message or a call to the Kurdish people and democratic circles who defend the line of resistance against the AKP / MHP fascism?

There must be more commitment to the Kurdish struggle. Kurdish young people who listen to Kurdish music are murdered. This has to be kept in mind. You have to fight racism everywhere. I invite everyone to position themselves even more strongly and clearly against fascism, to devote themselves even more to resistance and to be even more courageous.

I call for dealing with the isolation of Rêber Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] and to react to it. Above all, I call on the young people, the Kurdish young people, to expand their resistance and thus strike a blow to the torture and isolation regime on Imrali and thus defeat it.
