Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan was forced to leave Syria on 9 October 1998. This date is considered the start of the international plot against Kurdish Freedom Movement, by Kurdish people.
Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council Co-presidency released a statement on the 19th anniversary of October 9 international plot against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Condemning the powers behind the plot 19 years ago, KCK commemorated all those who sacrificed their lives to prevent the international plot from succeeding.
“ÖCALAN BECAME AN EVEN MORE INFLUENTIAL FIGURE”
KCK said the plot has failed and Kurds and other peoples initiated a revolution in accordance with Öcalan’s ideas in Syria, where the plot started.
“With the international plot, they aimed to weaken our leader Apo’s influence on politics of Kurdistan and the Middle East and finally destroy it. But now during the 2010’s Öcalan became an even more influential figure in Kurdistan and the Middle East. The Kurdish Freedom Movement is now stronger and now is in a position that guides the Middle Eastern politics” KCK said.
“HISTORIC PLOTS CAN NOT SLOW DOWN HISTORIC DEVELOPMENTS”
“Our leader Apo has become the leader of not only the Kurdish people but also of the peoples in the Middle East, and PKK is the leading force of the democratic revolution in the region today. Our leader’s saying ‘historic plots cannot slow down historic developments but on the contrary accelerate them’ is now proven to be right” the statement read.
KCK pointed out that in a few years Kurdish people and Öcalan will be free and a democratic Turkey and Middle East will be established.
CALL TO RAISE THE STRUGGLE
KCK called upon the youth, women and people of Kurdistan and the Middle East to raise the struggle within the frame of democratic nation concept and create a democratic Middle East with Öcalan’s and Kurdistan’s freedom.
