KCK: Turkey will be held accountable for Zakho massacre!

The KCK urged people not to be a party to the war crimes of the Turkish Republic and added that they will be held accountable for the Zakho massacre. The KCK called on the Kurdish people and their friends to show their reaction.

KCK Foreign Relations Committee issued a written statement about the massacre carried out by the Turkish state in Zakho. Reminding that the fascist state has massacred 28 civilians all over Kurdistan in the last 7 months, the KCK said that international forces and regional reactionaries had a share in the massacre. “There are no limits in the fascist Turkish genocide policies. Turkey received support and approval from the UN, USA, NATO, EU, regional reactionaries and Kurdish collaborators.”

The statement added: “The invasion attacks of the murderous and invading fascist Turkish state against South Kurdistan in partnership with the KDP continue uninterruptedly. On Wednesday afternoon, the invading Turkish army shelled Arab tourists in the village of Perexê in Zakho's Derkarê town with artillery.

In the bombardment, 8 tourists lost their lives and 23 tourists were injured. In the last 7 months of attacks, the fascist Turkish state has killed 28 civilians. The fascist and invading Turkish state is implementing a unique policy of genocide against the Kurdish people, especially in Bashur Kurdistan, Rojava and Bakur Kurdistan. The fascist Turkish Republic, which received support and approval from the UN, US, NATO, EU, regional reactionaries and Kurdish collaborators, knows no boundaries in its genocidal policies, and destroys and plunders the nature of Kurdistan as it kills civilians and guerrillas.”

The statement continued: “Having suffered a historical defeat against the guerrillas in Zap, Avaşîn and Metîna, the Turkish Republic uses primarily banned bombs, thermo-baric and chemical weapons. Despite this, the AKP-MHP war clique, which could not get the desired result, and continued to kill and injured dozens of our people in Shengal, Maxmur, Kunê Masî, Kelar, Rojava, Mosul-Ninova, Sulaymaniyah and most recently Zakho.

The Iraqi government and the Bashur Kurdistan administration should not justify these attacks by remaining silent.

International powers, especially the UN, the US and the EU, should take a stand against Turkey's reckless attacks in Iraq and Syria. They should not be complicit in the war crimes carried out by the Turkish Republic.

Stopping this fascist regime, which has bloodied the whole region with its neo-Ottoman dreams, is the most urgent goal. All regional actors should know that there will be no peace in the world, especially in the Middle East, before Turkish fascism is overcome and neutralized.

We call on our people and friends to once again show their reaction and stance at the highest level against this brutal aggression. As movement and as people, we reiterate our promise that we will hold this fascist Turkish regime accountable for the massacre.”
