KCK (Kurdistan Communities' Union) Executive Council issued a written statement on the meeting held with 25 members on 3-8 May. During the 5-day meeting, KCK officials evaluated the political and military situations in Turkey, Kurdistan and the Middle East, in addition to making decisions and plans in line with an assessment of the Kurdish movement's political and military struggle, ideological and organisational works during the recent period.

In its statement, the council emphasized that the Kurdish people’s struggle scared their enemies and forced Turkey to enter another process of democratization. KCK also noted that guerrillas would soon launch a historic initiative, and called upon Kurdish people to enhance the resistance against AKP fascism.

'KURDISH PEOPLE’S STRUGGLE SCARED THEIR ENEMIES'

KCK described the democratic confederal model of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan as the only viable option of ending the chaos that has been tearing the Middle East apart, and said that the Kurdish people’s democratic and pro-society character combined with the military capacity of the Freedom Movement has been the most important democratic dynamic of coexistence in the region.

The KCK statement emphasized that the Kurdish people’s struggle scared their enemies such as the genocidal and fascist regime in Turkey, and called upon Kurdish society to enhance the struggle in future days.

'THE STRUGGLE SHOULD BE JOINT'

KCK described ISIS, Jabhat Al Nusra and Ahrar Al Sham as instruments of oppression of peoples’ revolutionary struggle for freedom and democracy in the region, and underlined that the struggle against these instruments should be joint and include different peoples and social groups.

'WE HAVE FORCED TURKEY TO ENTER AN IRREVERSABLE PROCESS OF DEMOCRATIZATION'

KCK Executive Council stated that the AKP government saw the increasing legitimacy and successes of the Freedom Movement as a threat to its interests, dismissed the Dolmabahçe Agreement through which Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan tried to reach a peaceful resolution, and began on July 24, 2015 to implement the decision of war that it had made in the fall of 2014 with its all-out attacks on Kurdish people and the Freedom Movement.

The KCK council pointed out that Kurdish people’s adamant struggle forced Turkey to enter an irreversible process of democratization, and the self-rule resistance across North Kurdistan has defeated state fascism despite the losses of Kurdish society such as martyrs Mehmet Tunç, Asya Yüksel, Pakize Nayır, Sêvê Demir, Fatma Uyar and Çiyager.

'SELF-RULE RESISTANCE WILL CONTINUE WITH DIVERSIFIED METHODS'

KCK stressed that the self-rul resistance in North Kurdistan is at a critical stage, and will continue with the use of diversified methods. The council reaffirmed its determination to democratize Turkey on the basis of local democracy.

'GUERILLAS WILL LAUNCH A HISTORIC INITIATIVE'

KCK Executive Council emphasized that guerrillas will reach full movement capacity with the coming of May, and would complement the self-rule resistance in urban areas and launch a historic initiative to defeat the genocidal and fascist regime in Turkey. KCK underlined the importance of giving struggle against the AKP government in solidarity with other revolutionary forces.

'TREATMENT OF LEADER APO IS THE TREATMENT OF KURDISH PEOPLE'

KCK underlined that the Turkish state launched the all-out war against Kurdish people after Erdoğan dismissed the Dolmabahçe Agreement, and criticized the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı Island. KCK said that the treatment of Leader Apo is also the treatment of Kurdish people.

CALL UPON AKP VOTERS AND VILLAGE GUARDS

KCK highlighted that the AKP has lost all of its legitimacy after it massacred hundreds of civilians including women, children and elderly, and destroyed cities across Kurdistan. The council called upon AKP voters to distance themselves from the fascist government and join the ranks of democracy forces. KCK also called upon village guards to object to the AKP government’s dirty policies of war, and said that all social groups should resist the AKP’s plans to rid Kurdistan of Kurdish people and populate it with refugees. The council stated that Kurdish people should enhance the level of solidarity within themselves as well as with other democracy forces.

'WE WILL ACTIVELY SUPPORT ALEVIS'

KCK Executive Council stated that AKP fascism was carrying out genocidal attacks not only against Kurdish people but also members of Alevi faith through special war policies such as forcing Alevis to leave their lands and replacing them with refugees from Syria. KCK stated that they would actively support Alevis, and called upon its allies to show solidarity with the Alevi people in Turkey.

KCK called upon Kurdish people and democracy forces to increase their collaboration and enhance the resistance against the AKP, and said that AKP fascism will continue to get weaker as long as the joint resistance against it continues.

INVITATION TO GUERILLA RANKS

KCK praised the heroic resistance of Kurdish youth during the self-rule resistance for freedom and democracy, and called upon young people in Kurdistan and Turkey to join the guerrilla ranks and step up the struggle against AKP fascism. KCK noted that women’s spirit of resistance has been invincible in the fight against fascism, and commemorated the struggle of woman martyrs such as Asya Yüksel, Pakize Nayır, Sêvê Demir and Nucan Malatya.
