KDP Asayish forces obstructed the march youth organizations in South Kurdistan launched on February 10 in order to protest the February conspiracy, and detained 4 people.
Kurdish youth marching from Sulaymaniyah to Hewler to protest the February 15 conspiracy reached the Pirde checkpoint at the entrance of Hewler this afternoon but were stopped by KDP Asayish forces, who cited their superiors' order for obstructing the march.
The youths decided to hold a sit-in after the obstruction and waited at the checkpoint until the evening. At the end of the sit-in, the youth held a press conference and they condemned the KDP's approach.
“KDP'S APPROACH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PATRIOTISM”
Erdal Engin made a press statement on behalf of the March Committee and said "We are not marching against the Turkish police in Turkey. We are marching to Hewler, the capital of South Kurdistan. This is Kurdistan and we are protesting the conspiracy against our Leader and people. However, we are obstructed by a power that calls itself Kurdistan Democratic Party. This has nothing to do with patriotism and nationalism. This clearly serves the conspiracy."
THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT OFFERED THEIR HELP
Engin thanked PUK's Asayish forces and civilians for offering their help and support in Suleymaniyah, Bazyan, Tekke, Chamcamal and Kirkuk since the beginning of the march. Engin said "We will never accept such obstructions. Everybody should know that our struggle will continue. We will enhance this struggle with the philosophy of Leader Öcalan."
In the meantime, four participants of the march that entered Hewler after the press statement were detained by KDP Asayish. It is yet not known where the demonstrators were taken to.
